Why visit Nyahururu and Thomson Falls?
Nyahururu is a highland stop between the Mount Kenya region and the Rift Valley. The route includes time at Thomson Falls for scenery, photography and a short walk before continuing toward Naivasha. The stop provides a useful break during the longer road journey and introduces the relationship between highland water systems, landscapes, farming and downstream communities. Walking conditions can be wet, steep or slippery, so footwear and access should be considered for children, older travellers and visitors with limited mobility. Entry conditions, local guides and access to viewpoints may change. The driver guide will use the safest available path and adjust the visit when weather makes walking unsuitable.
