Suggested itinerary
Arrival in Arusha
Meet the local representative at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport and transfer to the hotel. The safari guide reviews the route, luggage arrangements, park regulations, accommodation plan and expected wildlife conditions. Guests arriving early may arrange an optional city, coffee-estate or cultural visit.
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Drive from Arusha to Tarangire and enter the park for game viewing. Explore baobab-dotted landscapes and areas around the Tarangire River, particularly productive during dry periods. Watch for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, lions and diverse birds before continuing to the lodge or camp.
Tarangire to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, travel through the northern Tanzania highlands and continue toward Serengeti National Park. Stop for viewpoints and formalities along the way, then begin game viewing as the route enters the plains. Reach the central Serengeti area in the late afternoon and settle into camp.
Full-Day Serengeti Game Viewing
Spend the day exploring the central Serengeti and adjacent wildlife areas. The guide adapts the route to recent sightings, seasonal movement and road conditions. Search for big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hippos and large antelope herds. A picnic lunch allows more time in the field, with optional return to camp for a midday rest.
Second Full Day in the Serengeti
Continue Serengeti exploration with an early start. Depending on the season, the guide may focus on resident wildlife in the Seronera region or travel toward areas associated with migration herds. Guests can pre-book an optional balloon safari. The standard programme includes a full day of guided vehicle game viewing and photography stops.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Take a final morning game drive while leaving the Serengeti, then continue toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop at selected viewpoints or cultural and archaeological sites if included in the final quotation. Arrive at the crater rim or nearby highlands in time to enjoy the cooler landscape and prepare for the crater descent.
Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an extended game drive with a picnic lunch. The crater floor supports grassland, woodland, wetlands and a high concentration of wildlife. Possible sightings include lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas and black rhinos, although every sighting remains subject to nature. Return to the highlands in the afternoon.
Karatu to Arusha and Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha with optional shopping or a cultural stop where timing permits. Lunch may be arranged in Arusha depending on the departure schedule. Transfer to the airport or a selected city hotel, concluding the safari.
