About this journey
This safari joins northern Kenya with southern Kenya and Tanzania. Because Samburu and Amboseli are far apart, it includes a realistic Nairobi transit night rather than presenting the transfer as a normal game viewing day. Two nights in Samburu are followed by two in Amboseli, then the route crosses through Namanga to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. A domestic flight can replace the long Samburu to Nairobi transit at additional cost.

Suggested itinerary
Nairobi to Samburu
Travel north through the central highlands to Samburu. Arrive for lunch and an afternoon drive along riverine and dry country habitats.
Full Day Samburu Special Five Safari
Search for Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, elephants, predators and birds.
Samburu to Nairobi Transit
Take a final short drive when timing allows, then make the long road journey to Nairobi. A domestic flight can be quoted as an alternative.
Nairobi to Amboseli
Travel south to Amboseli and take an afternoon drive for elephants, wetlands and plains wildlife.
Full Day Amboseli
Use early and late drives for elephant families, birdlife and possible Mount Kilimanjaro views.
Amboseli Through Namanga to Tarangire
Cross into Tanzania and continue through Arusha to Tarangire. Take an afternoon drive if timing allows.
Tarangire to Central Serengeti
Take a morning Tarangire drive and continue to Serengeti, viewing wildlife en route to camp.
Full Day Central Serengeti
Explore central Serengeti for big cats, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hippopotamuses and plains wildlife.
Second Serengeti Wildlife Day
Follow current wildlife information during another full day in central Serengeti.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Take a final morning drive and continue to the Ngorongoro highlands.
Ngorongoro Crater and Arusha
Descend to the crater floor for wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch. Ascend and transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
