About this journey
This half day experience connects a natural game drive with an organised elephant conservation visit. Start in Nairobi National Park, where the guide searches for rhinoceroses, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and birdlife across open plains, woodland and seasonal water areas. The park section provides context about wildlife habitat, conservation pressure and responsible viewing close to the capital. Continue to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Nursery for the scheduled public visitor programme, subject to advance reservation, operating times and animal welfare requirements. Visitors learn about the rescue, care and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants from the organisation's own team. The nursery visit is time controlled and cannot be moved freely, so the park drive is planned around the confirmed admission. This route is suitable for travellers interested in wildlife conservation, families and guests with a limited Nairobi stay. It does not include the Giraffe Centre unless added separately. The tour may begin very early because the national park is most practical before the fixed nursery programme. Wildlife sightings and animal presentations remain subject to natural behaviour and current conservation operations.
