About this journey
This long private day safari travels from Nairobi to the Laikipia Plateau for wildlife viewing and conservation interpretation at Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The conservancy is internationally recognised for black and white rhinoceros protection and supports opportunities to search for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes and other wildlife. Every sighting depends on natural movement and cannot be guaranteed. The driver guide explores selected plains, woodland and water areas according to time, road conditions and current wildlife information. A visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary may be included when it is open and compatible with conservation operations. Access to specialised rhinoceros experiences, the northern white rhinoceros area, night drives or guided walks requires separate confirmation and may involve additional fees. The route requires an early departure and a substantial road journey in both directions. It suits travellers who value conservation learning and accept a long day. An overnight Ol Pejeta or Mount Kenya itinerary normally provides more game viewing time, but the day trip is a useful option for restricted schedules. Lunch is arranged at a conservancy property or designated location according to the final package.
