About this journey
A short highland escape combining specialty coffee, dairy farming, community enterprise and gentle nature activities in the Mount Kenya region. Guests meet local producers, follow coffee processing from ripe cherry to roasted cup, visit a dairy unit, learn about fodder and animal-care systems and enjoy a guided forest or foothill walk. The tour is designed for travellers who prefer meaningful community interaction and productive landscapes to a conventional wildlife-only itinerary. The demo price is per person sharing and includes return road transport from Nairobi, three nights of accommodation, scheduled meals, farm-entry contributions, local guides and organised activities. Technical consultancy, strenuous mountain climbing, private purchases, alcoholic beverages, gratuities and travel insurance are excluded.

Suggested itinerary
Nairobi to the Nyeri Highlands
Depart Nairobi after breakfast and travel through central Kenya's productive farming region. Stop at a local market or scenic point where appropriate, then continue to the Nyeri highlands. After lunch, visit a community enterprise or demonstration farm for an introduction to local livelihoods, crop choices and changing climate conditions.
Specialty Coffee Farm and Processing Experience
Spend the morning on a coffee farm learning about seedling selection, crop husbandry, harvesting and quality control. Follow ripe coffee cherries through pulping, fermentation, washing and drying, then participate in a roasting and tasting demonstration. The afternoon is reserved for a relaxed village walk, local crafts or discussion with producers.
Dairy Farm and Mount Kenya Forest Walk
Visit a dairy enterprise to discuss feeding, fodder conservation, housing, breeding, milk hygiene and farm records. After lunch, transfer to a Mount Kenya forest or foothill area for a guided nature walk suitable for the group's fitness. The guide interprets indigenous trees, water catchments, birdlife and the relationship between forests and downstream farming.
Community Breakfast and Return to Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast and a final host discussion on farm economics, value addition and community tourism. Check out and drive back to Nairobi, stopping for lunch or shopping at the guest's expense as time permits. Drop-off is provided at a Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport according to the confirmed schedule.
