About this journey
This five day Kenya journey combines practical agricultural learning with conservation, wildlife and highland nature experiences. It is suitable for farmers, students, families, agricultural professionals, institutional groups and leisure travellers who want to understand several Kenyan farm enterprises within one carefully organised route. The first day introduces coffee or tea production in the highlands near Nairobi. The farm host can explain crop establishment, field care, harvesting, processing, roasting and tasting before a farm lunch. The afternoon adds a responsible giraffe conservation experience before the road journey to Naivasha. The second day focuses on an integrated organic agribusiness enterprise. The programme may cover dairy goats and milk processing, mushroom production and tasting, aquaculture, poultry and ornamental birds. Travellers can discuss how diversified enterprises share resources, labour and markets. The afternoon moves to a lakeside nature area for guided walking, wildlife observation, photography and optional horse riding. A boat excursion can be added on request. The third day begins with a detailed horticulture and floriculture visit. The selected farm may demonstrate greenhouse production, irrigation, crop nutrition, pest management, harvesting, grading, cooling and export preparation. The afternoon continues to Hell's Gate National Park for a wildlife and scenery drive through volcanic landscapes and open plains. The fourth day travels to the Nyeri and Mount Kenya highlands for a broad farm discovery programme. Activities may include coffee and tea fields, crop picking, processing, tasting, dairy cattle, organic crops, demonstration plots, poultry, rabbits, pigs, beekeeping, drip irrigation, greenhouses and composting. Training staff can adapt the discussion to the learning goals of the group. The final morning provides a short scenic introduction to the Mount Kenya highlands before the return to Nairobi. The visit is not a mountain climbing programme. The journey ends with transfer to a city hotel or the airport. Agriculture remains the primary purpose of this tour. The Giraffe Centre, lakeside wildlife and Hell's Gate are connected conservation and nature experiences. Every farm appointment depends on host confirmation, season, weather, production schedules, biosecurity, food hygiene and animal welfare. The order of activities may change when necessary to preserve safety and realistic travel times.

Suggested itinerary
Nairobi Coffee or Tea Farm, Giraffe Centre and Naivasha
Meet the professional driver guide at the confirmed Nairobi collection point and travel to a selected coffee or tea farm in the highlands near the city. Begin with an introduction to the farm, the crop, local growing conditions and the annual production cycle. Walk through the fields to discuss planting material, pruning, soil care, crop nutrition, shade, water management and common production challenges. When season and host facilities allow, observe or take part in supervised harvesting. A coffee programme may continue through pulping, fermentation, washing, drying, roasting and guided tasting. A tea programme may explain plucking, leaf handling and tasting. Enjoy lunch at the farm and discuss labour, quality, value addition and market access with the host. Return toward Nairobi and visit the Giraffe Centre for conservation education and responsible giraffe observation. Follow all centre rules and use only approved feed when feeding is permitted. Continue through the Rift Valley toward Naivasha, check into the accommodation and have dinner.
Naivasha Integrated Organic Agribusiness and Lakeside Nature
After breakfast, visit a selected integrated agribusiness enterprise in the Naivasha region. The host may demonstrate dairy goat housing, feeding, breeding, milk hygiene and small scale milk processing. Continue to mushroom production areas to learn about substrate preparation, hygiene, temperature and moisture management, fruiting, harvesting and handling. Tasting may be offered when safe produce is available. The programme can also include fish ponds or tanks, poultry units and ornamental birds. Farm experts explain how the different enterprises share water, nutrients, waste resources, labour and markets. Practical participation and photography depend on safety, biosecurity and host permission. After lunch or a short transfer, continue to a managed lakeside nature area. Walk with a guide through approved trails where giraffes, zebras, antelopes, wildebeest and birds may be observed. Wildlife is not guaranteed and must be viewed from a safe distance. Optional horse riding can be arranged for suitable travellers. A boat excursion for water birds and distant hippopotamus viewing is available only when requested, safely operated and included in the final quotation. Return to the Naivasha accommodation.
Naivasha Flower Production and Hell's Gate National Park
Begin with breakfast and travel to a confirmed horticulture or floriculture enterprise. Receive a biosecurity briefing before entering approved production areas. Learn about greenhouse structures, flower varieties, propagation, crop nutrition, irrigation, integrated pest management, harvesting standards and worker hygiene. Where access is approved, follow the post harvest process through grading, bunching, cooling, packaging, traceability and preparation for market. Photography and entry to commercial areas depend on the host rules. After a relaxed meal break, continue to Hell's Gate National Park for an afternoon wildlife and scenery drive. Travel on approved roads through open plains, cliffs and volcanic landscapes while searching for zebras, giraffes, buffalo, antelopes and birdlife. Every sighting depends on natural movement. Walking, cycling and gorge activities are not included unless separately confirmed under current park safety guidance. Return to Naivasha for dinner and overnight.
Nyeri Coffee, Tea, Livestock and Agricultural Innovation
Leave Naivasha after breakfast and travel through the central highlands to Nyeri. Begin at a confirmed training farm or agricultural enterprise with coffee and tea plots. Learn about crop husbandry, seasonal picking, processing and tasting. Continue to a dairy unit for discussion of housing, feed, animal health, milking and milk hygiene. Walk through organic crop fields and observe how compost and farm resources are used. After lunch, continue through demonstration plots and selected livestock units. The programme may include poultry, rabbits, pigs and beekeeping. Trainers can explain drip irrigation, greenhouse farming, composting, farm records, enterprise selection, value addition and marketing. The technical depth is adjusted for farmers, students, organisations or leisure travellers. Conclude with a visit to the farm shop when it is open. Seedlings and farm products may be purchased directly but are not included in the tour cost. Transfer to the Nyeri accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Mount Kenya Highland Scenery and Return to Nairobi
After breakfast, take a short guided excursion in the wider Mount Kenya highland area. Enjoy views of the mountain when weather is clear, observe forest and farming landscapes and learn about the natural, cultural and agricultural importance of the region. This is a gentle scenic programme and does not include climbing the mountain. Begin the return road journey to Nairobi with comfort stops and lunch according to the confirmed schedule. The final transfer can end at a city hotel or the airport. Travellers with an early flight should consider an additional Nairobi night because road and traffic conditions can change.
