About this journey
This extended Rift Valley day trip combines two different environments. Lake Nakuru National Park provides vehicle based wildlife viewing for rhinoceroses, Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, zebras, primates, predators and birds. Lake Naivasha adds an optional water based perspective through a licensed boat excursion for shoreline scenery, water birds and possible hippopotamus observation from a safe distance. Because the route includes significant driving and two destinations, collection is arranged very early and the Lake Nakuru game drive is deliberately focused. The programme does not attempt to cover every park road. Flamingo, rhinoceros and hippopotamus sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed. Boat operation depends on weather, water conditions, safety decisions and licensed operator availability. This itinerary suits travellers who value variety and are comfortable with a long day. Guests whose priority is detailed wildlife photography should choose the dedicated Lake Nakuru day safari instead. Guests who want cycling or walking should choose the separate Hell's Gate and Lake Naivasha programme. Lunch and the boat activity are included only when clearly stated in the final quotation.

Lake Nakuru Game Drive and Lake Naivasha Boat Excursion
Depart Nairobi very early and travel through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enter for a focused wildlife drive through selected lake shore, woodland and grassland sectors. Search for rhinoceroses, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, primates, predators and birds. Leave the park after the included lunch and travel to Lake Naivasha. Board a licensed boat for a guided excursion when weather, water and safety conditions permit. Observe shoreline scenery, water birds and wildlife from the distance required by the boat operator. Return by road to Nairobi. The arrival may be late because of the long route and traffic.
