About this journey
This eight day safari provides a broad Kenya wildlife circuit from the Maasai Mara to the southern Tsavo ecosystem. The route combines open savannah, a Rift Valley lake, Amboseli wetlands, volcanic Tsavo West and the vast semi arid landscapes of Tsavo East. The programme provides two nights in the Maasai Mara and two nights in Amboseli, with focused stops in Lake Nakuru, Tsavo West and Tsavo East. It is best suited to travellers comfortable with an active road itinerary and several long transfers. A fixed selling price is not inserted because accommodation class, park fees, resident status, season and traveller numbers materially affect the quotation.

Suggested itinerary
Nairobi to Maasai Mara
Depart Nairobi early and travel through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara. Arrive for lunch and take an afternoon game drive in search of plains wildlife, elephants, buffalo and predators.
Full Day Maasai Mara
Spend a complete wildlife day in the Maasai Mara with a picnic lunch or split drives. Explore different habitats for big cats, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and antelope.
Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru
Leave after breakfast and travel to Lake Nakuru. Arrive for an afternoon drive where timing allows. Search for rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, waterbuck, primates and birds in lake, woodland and grassland habitats.
Lake Nakuru to Amboseli
Take a morning park drive if required, then begin the long journey toward Amboseli. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening depending on traffic and road conditions. Settle into the accommodation and receive a briefing for the next day.
Full Day Amboseli
Explore Amboseli during early and late drives or a full day programme. Focus on elephant families, wetlands, plains wildlife and possible views of Mount Kilimanjaro when weather permits.
Amboseli to Tsavo West
Leave Amboseli after breakfast and travel into Tsavo West. Visit suitable wildlife areas and Mzima Springs when open and compatible with the route. Continue with an afternoon game drive across volcanic and wooded landscapes.
Tsavo West to Tsavo East
Begin with a morning drive, then cross into Tsavo East. Explore broad plains, river systems and water points for red dust elephants, buffalo, giraffes, antelope, predators and birds. End at the selected lodge.
Tsavo East Morning Drive and Nairobi Return
Take a final early drive before breakfast and check out. Begin the long road journey to Nairobi with suitable comfort and lunch stops. Transfer to a city hotel or airport. A post safari Nairobi night is recommended before an early international flight.
