About this journey
This fast paced programme adds Lake Nakuru before the Maasai Mara and continues across the border through northern and central Serengeti. It is intended for seasonal migration travellers who are comfortable with one night stays and long transfers. Outside the northern migration period, the Serengeti allocation should be adjusted to current herd locations. Migration herds and river events cannot be promised.

Suggested itinerary
Nairobi to Lake Nakuru
Travel through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Explore lake, woodland and grassland habitats for rhinoceroses, buffalo, giraffes, primates and birds.
Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara
Take a short morning drive if required, then continue to the Maasai Mara for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
Full Day Maasai Mara
Explore the Mara for predators, elephants, buffalo and seasonal herds. River events depend on natural movement and cannot be guaranteed.
Maasai Mara to Northern Serengeti
Leave early for immigration, customs and the operational transfer into Tanzania. Continue to northern Serengeti and use remaining daylight for wildlife viewing.
Northern to Central Serengeti
Take an early drive for seasonal herds and resident predators, then travel south through the park to central Serengeti.
Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Explore central Serengeti in the morning and continue to the Ngorongoro highlands for dinner.
Ngorongoro Crater and Arusha
Descend to the crater floor for a regulated game drive and picnic lunch, then ascend and continue to Arusha.
